THORBJØRNRUD HOTELL

A historic lakeside hotel by Randsfjorden, blending culture, nature, and award-winning local cuisine

Where history, gastronomy, and sustainability meet

Thorbjørnrud Hotell is a peaceful 4-star retreat located by Lake Randsfjorden, just one hour from Oslo and 45 minutes from Gardermoen. Originally built as the director’s residence for Hadeland Glassverk, the hotel now offers 82 comfortable rooms for up to 164 guests. Member of “De Historiske Hoteller og Spisesteder” and Eco-Lighthouse certified, Thorbjørnrud combines authentic heritage with sustainable solutions, making it a unique destination in Norway.

The culinary profile is central to the experience: produce from the hotel’s own gardens, collaborations with local farms, in-house microbrewery, and a vineyard with 6,000 vines. Guests can enjoy à la carte dining, seasonal set menus, and buffets highlighting regional ingredients. With 14 meeting rooms, an auditorium, and lakeside glamping during summer, Thorbjørnrud Hotell is ideal for conferences, weddings, or simply a memorable getaway.
