POLARIA

The world’s northernmost aquarium in Tromsø - Arctic nature, panoramic films, and close encounters with seals.

Where Arctic science meets wonder

Polaria is Tromsø’s Arctic experience center. A place where research, nature, and people connect. Inside its striking, iceberg-inspired building, visitors explore immersive exhibitions, spectacular panoramic films, and a living aquarium that reveals the hidden life beneath the ice. An underwater tunnel offers rare views of graceful seals as they glide past, while daily training and feeding sessions provide insight into their behavior and intelligence.

Beyond the aquarium, Polaria’s exhibitions examine the region’s fragile ecosystems, climate, and the relationship between humans and the Arctic environment. Year-round programming includes guided tours and short talks that deepen understanding of marine life and ongoing research in the north. Suitable for all ages, Polaria blends learning and inspiration, inviting guests to experience the Arctic up close in the heart of Tromsø.
