Helgøy Skyssbåt is a family-owned shipping company established in 1982, operating high-speed boats that combine modern comfort with panoramic views of fjords and coastal landscapes. From its base in Helgøy, Hjelmeland, the company provides passenger transport and customized sightseeing tours all along the Norwegian coast, from Stavanger to Tromsø. With over 100,000 nautical miles sailed each year, the commitment to quality, safety, and memorable journeys remains at the heart of every trip.


One of Helgøy Skyssbåt’s signature experiences is the whale safari from Tromsø, available between November and January. Guests can encounter humpback whales, orcas, and fin whales in their natural Arctic habitat, guided by knowledgeable staff and supported by modern catamarans designed for speed and comfort. Combining adventure with respect for nature, the tours capture the unique winter light and the breathtaking beauty of the Arctic seascape.
